Salvation

What is Salvation?

All people need salvation. Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” All people have sinned, and Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death.” Because we have all sinned against a holy God, we are deserving of eternal death in hell. Sin is serious, and the consequences are final.

However, there is hope! Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Even in our sin, God loved us and gave His Son Jesus to go to the cross on our behalf and die for our sins. He payed the penalty that was on us, and He gave us His perfect righteousness.

But, is there anything we do? Romans 10:9 says, “That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” And Romans 10:13 says, “for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” All you have to do is repent of your sin and believe in the salvation Jesus provides (Mark 1:15, Acts 2:38).

Call on the name of Jesus, and you will experience the salvation from your sins. He will give you a new life – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
